The combined 7th/8th grade girls basketball team placed second in the 11th annual Marie Wilkinson Basketball Tournament over the January 14th weekend. The St. Rita cagers advanced to the championship game by easily defeating St. Peter of Geneva in round one and St. Joseph in round two. In the championship game, St. Rita faced Aurora Catholic League rival, Annunciation Vikings. St. Rita was not able to answer the Vikings' press and outside shooting. The St. Rita squad is coached by Shawn Sullivan and Victor Rivera.
